Marc Dugain

CANDIDATO: Miglior Regia

FILM: The Curse of Edgar

BIOGRAFIA:

His first novel, written in 2 weeks, The Officers' Ward, has sold over half a million. It has been translated in 20 countries, including the US and the UK. Adapted for the screen, the movie was selected for the 2001 Cannes Film Festival and won 2 Césars the following year. His success has continued with The Curse of Edgar, sold at 260,000 copies. His latest novel, Avenue of the Giants, has sold 60,000 copies in a few weeks. La Bonté des femmes, the TV movie he directed, drew 4.2 million viewers on its first airing in January 2011, a record primetime audience for France 2. Marc Dugain always seeks to penetrate the violence written in the hearts of exceptional men and to grasp how far that violence can drive them, whether it be the very worst, with serial killer Al Kemper, or the most Machiavellian, with the reign of J. Edgar Hoover.
