Rahman Altin is an award-winning Film, TV and Video Game Composer, Songwriter and Producer who is based in both Los Angeles and Istanbul. He has served on numerous international juries for film, TV and advertising music awards. Rahman has been working and developing TV Teaser Campaigns, Trailers, Commercials, TV and Internet Promos for high-profile US clients such as: Warner Brothers, Lucas Film Ltd., HBO, DreamWorks, Sony Pictures, ActiVision, Picnic Hippo, Section 9 Entertainment, Remote Control and Static Music. These projects have included: The Dark Knight Rises, Iron-Man 3, Man of Steel, R.I.P.D., The Amazing Spiderman (2012), The Green Lantern, Star Wars (Blu-Ray debut), Monsters vs. Aliens (VG), Bucketz (VG), Tom Hanks' mini-series “The Pacific”, and HBO’s “The Special Relationship”. Rahman also composed and produced a comprehensive Trailer and Commercial Music Catalogue, consisting of over 120 tracks. It was published by L.A.-based Static Music, one of the leading forces in the Trailer Industry since 1999. In addition to his film scores, Mr. Altin has also composed soundtracks for over 1,500 TV commercials. Brands include: Mercedes Benz, Coca Cola, Honda, Ikea, HSBC, Kellogg’s, Cadbury, Ford, DANONE, Hyundai, Johnnie Walker, Pepsi, Vodafone, BP, Peugeot, Bridgestone, Turkish Airlines, Aviva, Knorr, Bosch, Fiat and Google, in addition to countless local brands in his native Turkey. He has worked with the world's largest and most prestigious advertising agencies, including: Ogilvy & Mather, Young & Rubicam, McCann Erickson, Leo Burnett, D’ARCY, BBDO, Euro RSCG, LOWE, DDB, Thompson, MAP, RPM, Grey Worldwide, Saatchi & Saatchi and TBWA. In 2013, he composed the epic score for “The Butterfly’s Dream” - the biggest film to ever be produced in Turkey. Upon release, Rahman’s soundtrack immediately became the No.1 bestseller in the country. After 5 months in release, the soundtrack still holds the #2 spot in sales and has since been nominated for best soundtrack of the year by the World Soundtrack Academy Awards. Within just a week, voters had listened to his nominated score over 25,000 times. The film is currently being positioned for a Best Foreign Film nomination for the 2014 Academy Awards and a campaign for Golden Globe nominations is also being mounted, including for the “Best Music” category. Additional 2013 compositions include scores for licensing campaigns pertaining to Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 and Warner Brothers’ Man of Steel. The Coca Cola commercial he scored for the Turkish market during Ramadan, garnered the highest rate of viewers in the country. Rahman is also an Opera Singer who has composed for the Ballet, Modern Dance, Theatre and Performances. In Turkey, he composed two of the biggest productions of modern dance with the Turkish State Opera and Ballet, which wound up playing a combined 7 years in total. Subsequently, he composed for some of the biggest fashion shows during New York Fashion Week in 2003, 2004 and 2006, Istanbul Fashion Week in 2010 and 2011. He won three "Best Film Music" awards with his filmscore for the 2006 epic "Waiting for Heaven". In 2011, Rahman was chosen to be the face of Johnnie Walker’s global “Keep Walking” series of commercials. To relax from his busy international career, Rahman collects from his favorite film series of all time, "Star Wars". To date he boasts the second largest Star Wars collection in the world.
